A small very colourful parrot that we don’t tend to see in Ballarat, but quite often see usually foraging for seeds on the edges of country roads. It was a nice surprise to come across quite a few in Bendigo today. The males are much more colourful than the females, mostly blue and green, but with a prominent red patch near the base of their tail.
