An Australian icon, the Australian Magpie (Gymnorhina tibicen), best known for its chortle, can be a bit of a danger at this time of year. They sometimes swoop down at people that they think may be a threat to their nest. This one photographed with a beetle in its beak in the Grampians, western Victoria, in October 2013.
