The Common Ringtail Possum (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) is, as it’s name suggests, common. This one lives in trees in Flagstaff Gardens, central Melbourne, Victoria. There are both Ringtail and Brushtail possums in Melbourne City parks. Brushtail Pussums are usually darker in colour. Although the coloration of this one looks darker than usual, it was because the photo was taken in the dark. It definitely is a Ringtail though. I saw it’s tail!
